i was all excited because i bought a copy of autodesk's entertainment creation suite, but now i'm rather disappointed. 3dsmax works fine, and is pretty much what I expected it to be, based on older versions i've used. Maya has just about the worst user interface setup i've ever seen; I still have absolutely no idea how anyone ever makes anything in the program, or manages to learn it without going to some training course. The tools that came with Maya are ok, MatchMover seems like a pretty cool product, though i don't think i will ever have much use for it. Toxik on the other had has all kinds of possibilities, or at least it would if the damn thing didn't crash all the time. Softimage is softimage, which i mainly wanted because of it's integration with XNA game studio, although I don't see any advantages to having the full version as opposed to the Mod Tool edition. Mudbox, I had hoped, would be quite useful, however any sculpting or painting in the program and the thing crashes as soon as I release my mouse button. Based on what i've read, it sounds like the program is nothing but a mess of bugs, and seems to be pretty pathetic in comparison to ZBrush. Autodesk offers no support to mention, and even mentalray's quality is pretty substandard. This will be the first and last time I ever purchase a product from Autodesk.
